Poison oak on leg- how serious?

I got poison oak on my leg (weirdly enough, the cut was there for like a week and only after I decided to pick the scab on a whim did it get inflamed). It was pretty swollen and inflamed and it was weeping real bad, but it's not weeping so bad at all anymore- hardly at all. Im 19 weeks pregnant and sense 11 week i have been dealing with sacroiliac joint pain. My dr said my hips are out of position and my ligaments are inflamed. Well it has become worse over the last 2 months and the pain is now in both hips, in my groin, in my lower abdomen and my thighs ache (as well as in both sacroiliac joints). I cant get in and out of chairs, the car or bed without being in so much pain im in tears. Lifting my 6 month old is torture!. I have tried chiropractic, physio, SI belts, hot/cold packs, codeine, paracetamol, resting, massage nothing is working at all and it just seems to be getting worse and worse. Has anyone else been through pelvic pain to this extent and if so what helped apart form obviously childbirth? I have been offered cortisone injections but i really want to do that as a last resort.

A couple of months ago i started to hear voices . I always seem to hear them as soon as I get in bed. I do not hear anything during the day. I'm wide awake, and stay awake trying to hear what's being said. It sounds like the TV is still on in the living room. These voices are low and I lay there trying to distinguish gender and strain my ears as to what is being said. You can tell if its a man or woman. One time while listening, it was a man and you could hear his different tones of voice as if he were speaking to a group of people. Another time it was a man and woman having some type of conversation. Another time the tone sounded like they may have been arguing. It's not scary to me, it fascinates me. I would just like to know what is being said and what/who is causing this. For the first time one night last week, I heard the voices of a man, woman and what sounded like a much older woman having a conversation and also for the first time I heard a whole sentence of what the man was saying. I should have written it down. Right now the only word I remember him saying was the word "history" or "historical." This happens on an average of 3-4 times a week.

I have a psychiatric question. The symptoms are like this: hearing voices telling you what to say or do. It's happened since childhood. I had something similar when i was younger. My chemist gave me E45 which made it worse. I would say to use something very mild like vasoline to give a layer of protection. I would guess that something has set off an allergic reaction, maybe pollen. Try taking piriton to relieve itching and keep the area clean and dry. Does sound like a touch of eczema.

Hi, recently my school had a student who had TB. Many people at our school had to be checked for exposure to TB and some who were positive had to go and get an X-ray. I rarely see the kid at my school but a close friend of mine turned out positive. I didn't have to take the shot, and I've been told by my dad that I had already taken the shot for TB when I was a kid. However, recently I developed a dry cough and fever, and my throat feels inflamed. I took it as an infection and started taking antibiotics and cough syrup. Why do i stop breathing while I'm awake?

Extremely sore gums but no dental insurance...what can I do in the meantime?

I have a history of periodontal disease. I try to take care of my teeth as much as possible with brushing, rinsing and flossing. But unfortunately my bottom front teeth are quite crooked leaving somewhat large spaces for my gums to become more infected. Right now I do not have dental insurance and my gums are killing me! They are very inflamed and I have some prescription rinse but can only use it every so often otherwise it turns your teeth brown. Is there anything else I can do in the mean time to sooth my gums? Also, a weird thing too...I seem to get some sort of relief (or I'm just making it worse) by sticking my nail inbetween my teeth as if they're too scrunched together. DID DOCTORS REMOVE MY APPENDIX?

Not to long ago, i had to get a benign ovarian cyst removed. I told the surgeon, that while he was at it, he could feel free to remove anything else to save me another trip back anytime soon, meaning my appendix. He said he'd do his best. But because i was in a lot of pain when i awoke, i forgot to ask him whether he took the appendix out or not, so i went home wondering. I didn't bother to ring him up, because i didn't want to bother him, but my dad told me that i would've had a large scar on the right side of me (like he has- his ruptured when he was 2), and all i have are 4 key cut scars (below the belly button, lower left, lower right, and one just above my you know what lol. My mom on the other hand said because of excellent technology now-a-days, he probably took it out & it left no scarring. But i'm not so sure. Has anybody had their appendix out recently or know of somebody who has? Is there a hideous scar? or something really tiny? Or nothing at all?

I need to know more about Retina/Optic Nerve Coloboma.?

My daughter is three months old and yesterday was diagnosed with having Optic Nerve Coloboma. On her chart they have three things circuled- ambrlypia, coloboma-retina(no listing for optic nerve coloboma), and ptosis. She only has this in her left eye. When I looked at her eye today and tried to compare to images I have seen of Coloboma, I see nothing outside of a squity eye and her eye turns in especially when she is bored/tired. Granted, I'm not a professional and I can not see behind her eye. But her actual eyes look the same to me. Both have circular shaped black centers and a clear defined blue color around. Does the "key hole", "Cat eye", "morning glory" take time to develop? Is it possible that she was misdiagnosed if the doctor could not get a good look in her eyes. (it was really hard to allow the doctor to look at her eye.) I had two lazy eyes that were crossed as a baby and that is why I noticed so early. Her one eye was sleepy looking and turned to the center and my mother noticed right away. It has even gotten better since when the pediatrician asked us to see the specialist a few weeks ago. She is opening it more. Looking around more-maybe not alot or really at you, but better. We are starting the patch, she hates it and my husband says that a good sign. She has only done it twice and I try to keep her awake to get her to look at me and toys. No real progress but it has been two days. She does not look to have Coloboma. Can someone better educate me on it and maybe send me in the right direction of when to expect things to change if they ever will? Every case I have read about these two days has OBVIOUSE signs and my daughter just doesn't. No other abnormalities. No lag in her normal development. There are no signs to me!

Software or a new monitor for photo-editing?

I have a very limited budget. I'm using a computer I built myself a few years back and the pc specs are fine but I'm toying with two options and wondering what you think. Right now I'm using photoshop cs2 to edit photos but I'm really in need of something to help with organizing as I'm getting more serious about my photography. The monitor I am currently using is the Dell M782P CRT and I can afford to either get a decent sized LCD monitor or buy Adobe Lightroom 3 and the pantone huey pro so I can calibrate my crt. Seems OK. We had a GSD that had some issues with his ears and we used a very similar procedure to clean them. Never new about the PH balancing though. We used an over the counter product called (I believe) Octa-calm (or similar, sorry I don't remember the exact name......we have another GSD now (the old original fella crossed the bridge seven years ago) whose ears are PERFECT (we're very happy).

Already been to doctor. Was referred to oral surgeon who can't see me for two more weeks. Need four teeth extracted. One is abscessed and has had me in EXTEME pain for almost two days. I remember thinking "This is it, I've finally gone crazy, my family history caught up to me and this is it" (I have a bad family history) and I jumped off my bed in terror and curled into a ball on the floor in front of my bed before calling out for my husband and clinging to my head in pain/terror, I could also vaguely hear him answering as if the screaming in my head was drowning it out. It was so realistic it was as if I had been awake, I still feel rattled from it. I've been known to occasionally have nightmares where I think I'm awake in them. My Pelonis space heater shorted out and caused a fire. Do I have a case?

My Pelonis ceramic space heater caused a fire in my family room. I'm so glad we were home and awake! The heater was off but still plugged in. Honestly during the winter it's a permanent fixture in that room because it gets so cold. We do turn it off but typically do not unplug it. The other morning I heard what sounded like a cell phone vibrating, very loudly I might add. The next thing I new I heard my husband screaming "fire, fire, fire....He's your typical goof ball...so I figured he's goofing off with the kids...I turned around and looked into the family room and saw he was serious. Blood in the vomit last night?

I threw up last night after I'd been drinking and there was a lot of thick, clotted looking blood in it but I just went to bed. Tonsillitis/ infection help? I have had multiple sinus infections lately which keep getting passed between me and my two year old son. The drs always tell me its virul until it gets so bad I have to go back for antibiotics finally I had a sinus infection recently that got so bad before they believed it was an infection. How does one print on custom-sized paper with no margins in Ilustrator CS2?

I'm trying to print thank-you notes on 5.5 x 8.5 greeting card paper, using an Illustrator document the same size. The 'Custom' Size option under Media in the Print dialog box was greyed out, so I made a custom paper size with no margins in the Page Setup dialog box, and these dimensions showed up in the width and height boxes underneath 'Defined by Driver'. When I tried to print this, however, a half inch of the graphics were cut off on the bottom. Upon looking in the 'Summary' menu on the Print dialog, I found that it listed the paper size as 5 x 8. I made a new paper size using the same dimensions just in case, but the Summary then listed the dimensions as 6 x 9. Does anyone know what I'm doing incorrectly, and if/how I can fix it?

Hi i have had a kind of lock jaw for way over a year now..but over the past 2 weeks i have had constant popping/cracking and it feels like i have pulled something in my jaw. I went to the dentist because it was incredibly sore when the joint popped back and forward. So he said it sounded like it is inflamed and to take ibuprofen for a week and a half and heat packs and then to come back if it hasn't settled..i am in agony it seems like it is getting worse..it hurts so much to eat now and it hurts to swallow or move my mouth at all, is it possible to damage muscle in one side of your jaw? And about 2 minutes ago it just made a really loud crack, like bones crunching together, it's so disguisting!

Problem with Adobe Photoshop CS2?

Whenever i open Photoshop, I get this message: "Your adobe photoshop username, organization or serial number is missing or invailid. The application cannot continue and must now exit" and after I click ''ok'', photoshop closes. I didn't have this problem before, i used to use photoshop normally. I don't know why this is happening now. Can anyone help me to fix this

Shaving rash on legs?

This morning i shaved my legs with a disposable razor and just water, no soap. i didnt think it would be a big deal and nothing would happen but after i shaved, i got red bumps all over my shins that inflamed and i got red razor bumps all over my legs. they hurt sooo bad and burn and they are veryy dry now. i cant put lotion on because it burns even more. i just want them to go awayy they hurt so much! helppp how can i get rid of them or make them not hurtt?

Yesterday my Dr. did an exam and did a light stripping of membranes.?

Please help! My skin is horrible?

So I have really really bad alergys! (sorry if I spelt alergys wrong) I'm alergic to corn, nuts, animals, dairy products, grass, ect. So it's almost impossible for me to not do anything I'm not suppoused to. I haves dog but I can't get rid of her! I love her to much. Anyway, my alergys cause me to severaly itch/scratch myself mostly while I'm sleeping. I try wearing socks over my hands but I just pull them off while I'm sleeping and I can't stop! I have really bad inflamed hives and cuts all over my hands and arms and legs. I'm afriad I'm going to get an infection or something. What are some natrual ways to help?

Throat pains/tonsil? sickness?

A couple days ago at night I had a bad headache, so I just took a shower and went to bed hoping it would go away, but it was still merely there. I woke up the next morning with the worst headache I've ever had i got up at 8am, took two Advil and it faded away just a tad and i went back to bed. i woke up few hours later and it was just as bad. my body ached i was having cold and hot flashes and its in the middle of summer, i lied down in the living room later that day under a blanket everyone else was claiming to be burnin up so i took my temp. at it was 102, so i went to bed no covers tryin to cool off and feel better but the feelin wouldnt shake i couldnt sleep it was horrible my headache or migrane killed me, i even took two ibuprofens and it did nothing. but i woke up yesterday and i felt almost better, but my throat ached like i had slept with my mouth open facing a heater and i couldn't swallow without it hurting and my tonsils were inflamed. today it just got worse its painful to drink water, but there is a pump on my left tonsil that is a faded white color and i can just be sitting here at the computer eating or drinking nothing,not swallowing and it will have random spurts of pain. please help me with information and what to do

My Dog Miya is about 9 months old and is in heat. I know this because as i was feeding her i noticed her vulva was bigger and as i looked closer i noticed it was bleeding and inflamed. I agree with the first person, coffee ground looking stool is a GI bleed, usually a upper. When it looks like that it usually means it has been going on for awhile (8 hours) so you may have had this bleeding for at least 8 hours! This can be dangerous. It is something we pick people up for alot in the ambulance, and I would advise you to go to the ER now!

Why does my baby BURST in tears and sobs in his sleep?

He does this weird thing where he breathes heavily and then cries like he's afraid of something. An emotional cry. When he cries during the time that he is awake, he sounds normal like a reg. baby cry. But when he gets there nightmare attacks he cries REALLY loud and the suddenly stops... what is causing this? Gum around wisdom tooth torn?

My bottom right wisdom tooth is coming in and the gum in between it and one of my molars is slightly torn and created a very small flap. I cleaned my tooth last night and most of the gum isn't inflamed anymore and stopped bleeding. Is this normal? Will it heal by itself?

It's normal for your gums to bleed while cleaning if you are new at cleaning gums. Eventually your gums will get used to it and will no longer bleed. But yea I would get root canals for those cavities.

could be iron deficiency. i had everything but the fever thing plus thin nail beds and some other stuff. The headaches are really what led to me being diagnosed though. because i literally had a headache every day for a month straight. The doctor didn't think to check for iron levels until i started listing off everything i could think of and all of the symptoms combined gave her the diagnosis. so make sure that you write down everything that's going on with you and tell your doc about all of it because that can make the difference.

Does packing a cavity of a painfull tooth hurt?

I have a cavity that in honesty I should have had fixed a while ago but now I have cracked the tooth a little and my gum is inflamed. I have a dentist appointment on Tue but the pain is almost too much to take. A family friend (who has had his fair share of tooth problems) suggested I pack the cavity with salt and kill the nerve. The thing is, when it comes to teeth, I have such an unbelievably low threshold for pain, he say's it wont hurt but I can't think how it couldn't plus I think he is just trying to get me to do it. Has anyone any experience with this that can tell me honestly if it will hurt?

Where do I place my center channel speaker?

I am forced to have my 6 speakers (2 front wide, and 4 surround) near the top of the wall but all are pointed at my seating area. I am able to have my center channel anywhere from right above my TV or up level with all of my speakers. Should the center be placed as low as possible? Or as level as possible with the other speakers? The center channel is being placed on a flat shelf so I will not be able to level it at all. Center channel speaker is the Polk Audio CS2 and my surround speakers are Acoustech PL-66's.

Why am I so tired since exams/school term had finished?

School ended for the term/semester 4 days ago and I have a 3 week holiday before the third term starts.
